Remember how gnarly last year’s Street League DC Pro Tour was? Here’s a 2011 recap in case you forgot. Looking forward to see Chris Cole, Nyjah Huston, Mikey Taylor and Mike Mo Capaldi attack this year’s course.
I know a guy that would have Travis Pastrana‘s babies. I haven’t quite had the heart to tell him some of the many obstacles he would have to overcome in order for that to become a realilty. But even I have to admit that ESPNs 2011 Most Awesomest Dude Award winner Pastrana has got some sweet sneaks:
Back in 2010 he had this blue and white colourway DC Frenzy. I’ve not found anywhere that still stock them but if you look hard you’ll find a pair!
Another shoe from Fall 10, the DC Turbo 2. It’s still quite easy to get hold of some. Although its got Pastrana’s ‘Thumbs Up’ logo on the tongue, it’s one of the few without his ’199′ race number. Not my favourite. Even so, I found some here
I found this plaid variation of the DC Net. The red and yellow plaid design was used by DC for the Pastrana stuff in 2011 so I guess it won’t be too difficult to get hold of some.
The DC Amp TP also came out in 2011 as part of his teamworks collection. Its a pretty tough skate shoe with loads of padding.
The DC Radar Slim was another shoe that came out last year. It’s got a bit of a mid-top thing going on, so it would be pretty cool for skaters or BMX kids who might want some more impact protection. Whenever I’ve seen them, they haven’t been cheap but that’s what you get when you have carbon fibre details, buddy!
The DC Frenzy has been a really popular choice for Pastrana. Probably because it is one of DC’s most tech-filled shoes, what with the airbags and all the Performalite (DC’s trademarked lightweight EVA foam stuff) and this 2011 version has the black and yellow colourways that really make it stand out. These guys are top dollar but I reckon they are worth it!!
Ah, the DC Alibi. One of my favourites. Sometimes you don’t want to wear a chunky skate shoe and these, like the DC Alias have jogger profile and a really lightweight. It’s not an obvious TP shoe but I think that is part of the appeal.
Now we’re up to 2012! The new DC TP Frenzy features his new black and orange colourway and is arguably the best yet! Where can you get them? Here!
